William Albert Allard’s first assignment for National Geographic is considered the turning point for what is now one of the most well-known documentary photographic magazines in the world. Allard was part of a generation of photographers who shaped the magazine from its original academic journal to the photographic powerhouse it is today. This short film looks at Allard's life as a photographer, his passion and his ability to gain access into other worlds.
